Vellapally’s political party not a threat to UDF: A K Antony

Thiruvananthapuram: Congress Working Committee member A K Antony on Sunday said the new political party launched by Hindu Ezhava leader Vellapally Natesan was not a threat to the United Democratic Front (UDF) in the State.

“The formation of the new party is part of an RSS agenda to create communal polarization in Kerala. They have been successful in some aspects in implementing that agenda in the State,” Antony said.

Asked about the allegations raised by solar scam accused Biju Radhakrishnan against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Antony said the accusations were baseless.

“The allegations were raised by an accused in a murder case. I am sympathizing with the Opposition who turned against the Chief Minister based on the remarks of such a person,” the senior Congress leader said.
