No change in our stand on Vizhinjam project: Kodiyeri

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Saturday said there was no change in his party’s stand on the Vizhinjam project.

“Our opposition is not to the project, but to the terms of agreement signed with the Adani group. We have conveyed our stand to Gautam Adani. No secret matters were discussed at the meeting,” Kodiyeri told reporters at the press conference.

“We are boycotting the event as part of our protest against Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Excise Minister K. Babu,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Adani group chairman Gautam S. Adani visited Kodiyeri at the AKG Bhavan.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Adani said: “the talks were positive.”
