VS criticises Ramesh Chennithala over police force

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan on Thursday came down at Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala over the recent incidents that put the state police force in bad light.

While talking to the media, Achuthanandan said the Home Minister has left the police force unchained letting them do whatever they wanted.

“The Home Minister has no control over the police. The sexual harassment case against Kottayam DySP is the latest to prove that."

Asking the Home Minister to step down from the post, the Marxist veteran demanded Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to intervene in the matter.

The DGP had on Thursday recommended suspension of Kottayam DySP T A Antony from service following sexual harassment case filed by a married woman.
