Thiruvananthapuram: CPI-M politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday said the mindset of Nair Service Society (NSS) was secular.
“There were efforts during the rule of Vajpayee to canvass NSS and SNDP. RSS too tried for that. Although the SNDP later became a part of them, the NSS took a stern stand. That stand showed they were part of the secular mindset of the State,” Vijayan said in an interview to a news channel.
Asked about the party’s preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, the Marxist leader said the LDF would easily win the elections. “The UDF is on its way to collapse. The people have realized their errors.”
Vijayan also said the Left front was not averse to taking other parties in the front.
