Kumali: Tamil Nadu government has issued a warning that they might open the shutters of Mullaperiyar dam anytime to keep the water level steady below 142 ft.
Idukki district collector has directed the residents of the area to be vigil.
The warning was issued as the water level rose above 141.6 on Wednesday owing to heavy rains in the catchment area and resultant huge inflow.
Tamil Nadu had closed the four shutters on Monday morning as the water level came down to 141.60 feet.
