Malappuram: Funeral of Thesni Basheer, the engineering student who succumbed to injuries after being run over by a jeep during Onam celebrations inside the campus of College of Engineering (CET), was held on Saturday morning.
The burial was held at Manimooli Juma Masjid in Nilamboor around 9.00 am.
People from various walks of life thronged at her resident to have a last glimpse of the student.
Her body was brought to her house in Vazhikkadavu in Malappuram at 11 pm on Friday.
Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said that the probe into the CET incident was moving in the right direction.
Meanwhile, father of the victim accused the government of negligence over delay in arresting the accused in the incident.
“The culprits should be brought before the public. It should not be happened to any other student,” he told reporters.
