Probe into Haneefa murder lacks sincerity, says Pinarayi

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI-M politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday said that the investigation into the murder of Congress worker Haneefa at Thiruvathra near Chavakkad here had been insincere.

“The investigation in the Haneefa murder case is not in the right way. Who is controlling the investigation team? Unbiased police officers should be appointed to take the probe further,” Vijayan said.

“Even the Congress workers are not protected under the UDF government. The relatives of Haneefa have complained that the Congress workers do not get justice under the Chandy government,” he said.

A C Haneefa Manathala, former Youth Congress block secretary, was murdered on at 9 30 pm on August 7 by a group of six attackers who barged into his house, situated at Baby Road in Andathod Chalil, and stabbed him in front of his mother.
