Search on for Maoist leader's hideout

Kozhikode: In the wake of a Maoist video threatening to conduct an armed struggle in the state, sleuths of Central investigation agencies have begun search operations to locate the hideout of Maoist leader Roopesh.

Sources said the investigating agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), are examining whether it is Roopesh seen in the video as his face is covered.

A private television channel’s studio in Kozhikode Monday had received a CD containing the dialogues and clippings of Roopesh. He was clad in uniform holding a gun in the video.

Roopesh, in the video, had claimed to execute armed struggle with people’s support in the state.
