Thiruvananthapuram: Around 10 lakh autorickshaw and taxi drivers in the state will go on a 12-hour token strike on Thursday seeking fare revision.
The strike is from 6 am to 6 pm.
The autorickshaw-taxi workers coordination committee leaders said that they would launch an indefinite strike from September 25 if their demands are not met.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, in a meeting of the committee leaders convened on June 27, had assured to resolve all the other demands except the fare revision.
The leaders said the government had consented to revise the fares even if the Ramachandran Commission appointed to study on the fare revision did not submit report before July 31.
“But so far no action has been taken in this regard,” they said.
