MG College case likely to be reprobed

Thiruvananthapuram: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has directed the secretary of State home department to examine the possibility of ordering a reprobe into the MG College attack case.

The Home Minister’s directive was following a letter given by V.N Shivankutty MLA seeking a reprobe into the case.

The incident related to the case took place in 2005 during a student clash that erupted in MG College in Thiruvananthapuram.

The State government’s recent decision withdrawing the case pertaining to attempt to murder on former Museum Circle Mohanan Nair allegedly by a group of RSS and ABVP activists, including students of MG College had drawn controversy.

The decision to withdraw the case was taken on the basis of a memorandum submitted by the 32 accused in the case to the government.
