Chennithala hits out at LDF over bar bribe row

Thiruvananthapuram: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Monday hit out at the LDF Opposition, saying that they are confused over the kind of inquiry that is needed to be carried out into the alleged bar bribery controversy.

“It has now come into the open that there are differences of opinion in the Opposition as to which agency should probe into the issue. Let them first decide what kind of probe is needed,” Chennithala said.

“It will take at least three months for the Vigilance to complete the preliminary investigation. Vigilance will first look into the facts that are mentioned in the complaint of Achuthanandan,” he said.

When asked about the Kiss of Love protest, the Minister said there was no lapse on the part of the police force. “The police didn’t make any flaw in handling the issue and maintaining law and order. Nothing untoward had happened in Kochi,” he said.
