Vigilance recommends graft case against Rahul. R Nair

Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) has recommended the registration of a case of corruption against former Pathanamthitta SP Rahul R Nair.

Vigilance director Vinson M Paul in his report said there were evidences to prove that Rahul had received graft from a quarry owner.

Nair, who is now serving as Malabar Special Police commandant, is likely to be placed under suspension.

Sources said Rahul Nair, in his statement to the VACB, has alleged that Transport Commissioner ADGP R Sreelekha and Thiruvananthapuram Range IG Manoj Abraham had directed him to take a stand favourable to the quarry owners. The officials, however, refuted the allegations.

Rahul R Nair was removed from the post of District Police Chief, Pathanamthitta, following an Intelligence report that he accepted a bribe of Rs. 15 lakh from quarry and crusher owner Jayesh Thomas.
