Traitors behind attack on Krishna Pillai memorial, says Achuthanandan

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader V.S Achuthanandan Tuesday alleged his traitors were behind the attack on the Krishna Pillai memorial in Alappuzha.

“My traitors were behind the attack on the Krishna Pillai memorial. It was the same persons who had worked to defeat me in the 1996 election. T.K Palani too had a role in it,” he told a news channel.

“I hope the party will change its stand on the issue,” the CPI(M) veteran said.

On Saturday, Achuthanandan had criticised the party leadership’s move to expel the members accused in the attack case.

“The decision to expel the accused from the primary membership was wrong. The leadership should have instead dismissed with utter disregard the report of the Crime Branch team,” he said.

He also reiterated his stand that there was a conspiracy by the government in arresting the two persons in connection with the case.
