No financial crisis, only constraints: K M Mani

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is not in the grip of a financial crisis though the state is faced with financial difficulties, Finance Minister K M Mani told state Assembly Tuesday.

Replying to a flurry of questions and supplementaries from the LDF opposition, Mani ruled out the demand for issuance of a 'white paper' on financial situation and asserted that the government would not allow developmental and welfare schemes to suffer due to fund crunch.

The opposition members, however, protested in the House accusing the Finance Minister of hiding the facts and dared the government to come out with a white paper on the situation.

Mani shot back asking if the opposition members wanted to create an impression that the state was in the grip of a grim financial crisis.
