Eight Kochi passengers screened for Ebola

New Delhi: The Health Ministry on Wednesday said that eight passengers who arrived at the Kochi airport on Tuesday from Ebola affected countries were being tracked for the disease.

The Ministry said that all the eight persons would be enrolled for follow up in the state through Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) units.

The IDSP tracks the passengers whose details are provided to them by the Airport Health Organisation.

According to Health Ministry reports, 821 passengers who returned from Ebola hit countries on Wednesday were being screened for the deadly disease. Most of them belonged to states of Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
