Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC vice-president M.M. Hassan on Monday has said the Congress party is in support of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's stand on the liquor bar licence issue.
“There is a difference of opinion in the Congress over the issue. The party has not yet reached reconciliation on it,” Hassan told reporters.
“Majority of the members of the party-government coordination committee had supported the chief minister’s stand during its meeting,” the senior Congress leader said.
“I do not agree with KPCC chief V M Sudheeran’s claim that the government was trying to open the bars with court’s help,” he said.
“The party wants the liquor ban. But, it can’t be done immediately,” he added.
