Malappuram: Five children of Thavanur Special Children's Home escaped on early Saturday morning.
The children fled the observation home after they locked the wardens in their rooms. All five are juvenile theft convicts in various cases. While three of them hail from Kozhikode, one is from West Bengal and the other is from Tamil Nadu.
The police registered the case and started search operation. The special home is a facility, under the State's Social Justice Department, for children.
