Kozhikode: Two individuals were found dead in a caravan parked along the roadside near Vadakara town in the Kozhikode district of north Kerala, police reported on Tuesday. The bodies, identified as Manoj, the caravan’s driver, and Joel, were discovered on Monday evening at Karimapanapalam, where the caravan had been parked since Sunday night, raising suspicion among locals.
Upon investigation, one body was found near the door of the caravan, while the other was discovered on the vehicle’s berth. The caravan, owned by a business group in Malappuram district, was reportedly returning from Kannur after dropping off a wedding party.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident. Forensic teams, fingerprint experts, and a dog squad are currently conducting examinations at the scene. A senior police officer stated that no suspicious evidence has been uncovered so far, and further information will be provided after the post-mortem procedures.
At this stage, there is no confirmation that carbon monoxide inhalation was the cause of death. The officer further clarified that there were no eyewitnesses to the incident and services from forensic and scientific expert teams have been sought. Only after their analysis can conclusions be drawn about the cause of death.
