Yediyurappa's political secretary allegedly attempts suicide,undergoing treatment

Karnataka CM Yediyurappa's Political Secretary NR Santosh allegedly attempted suicide at his residence on Friday. In addition to being the Political Secretary since May, he is also the grandson of Yediyurappa's sister.

NR Santosh is said to have consumed sleeping pills with the intention of suicide, but was found unconscious by his family and taken to MS Ramaiah Hospital. The Chief Minister visted him at the hospital later that night.

Yediyurappa spoke to reporters outside the hospital expressing worry. He said that he had met NR Santosh just that morning and they had taken a walk. Further, he said that he did not know why this occurred and that he hoped he would recover.

The cause for this step remains unknown. His family has stated that they do not know why he would attempt suicide.

NR Santosh is still undergoing treatment at MS Ramaiah Hospital.
