'Won't allow reservations for Muslims': Amit Shah tells Jharkhand

New Delhi: In a rally in poll-bound Jharkhand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah vowed that BJP will not extend reservations to Muslims. Addressing the poll rally in Dhanbad, Shah alleged that Congress is an anti-reservation party and it wanted to end reservations for backward classes and Dalits to provide them to Muslims, Times of India reported.

“As long as there's even one BJP MLA, we won't allow reservations for Muslims,” TOI quoted Shah.

Shah pointed at the alleged corruption by the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)’s coalition with the Congress in the state. He cited the recent seizures and financial crimes within the local government. He pointed out that Rs 35 crore was seized from JMM minister Alamgir Alam’s residence and Rs 350 crore from a Congress MP’s house.

Late,r he raised alleged illegal immigration in the state and claimed that infiltrators are taking jobs and land. They are targeting tribal women and draining local resources, he claimed.

Shah claimed that infiltrators marry tribal women multiple times to take over their land. He announced that the BJP will deport every infiltrator in the state if it is elected to power.

In another rally in Jharkhand's Baghmara, Shah accused the Karnataka Waqf Board of encroaching on lands belonging to temples, villagers and farmers. He claimed that the Waqf Board is in the habit of grabbing land. BJP will pass the Bill to amend the Waqf Act, and no one can stop the party, Shah said.

“The Waqf Board is in the habit of grabbing land. In Karnataka, it has devoured the assets of villagers. Let them oppose it; the BJP will pass the Bill to amend the Waqf Act. No one can stop us,” Times of India quoted the Union minister.
