Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday dared the BJP to send its MPs to Manipur where ethnic clashes have turned into a deepening crisis.
Mamata has asked whether the BJP is scared of Manipur, adding that the party is counting money while states including Manipur and Nagaland are burning, NDTV reported.
Further attacking the BJP, she said ‘Kashmir has been finished’.
The chief minister announced that the INDIA delegates would visit Manipur to take stock of the situation.
Mentioning her attempt, Mamata said she was not given permission to visit the state.
A team of Opposition leaders will visit Manipur on July 29 and 30 even as they demand for discussion in Parliament on the situation in the state.
The Opposition disrupted the proceedings of the Parliament for fifth day, urging PM Modi to make a statement in the House on Manipur and sought a no-confidence motion.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, accepting the no-confidence motion, said he would speak to the leaders of all parties to schedule a discussion on the motion.
Earlier visiting Manipur, Home Minister Amit Shah announced several steps to restore normalcy.
