UP boy brought out dead from borewell after 20-hour rescue efforts

Mahoba (Uttar Pradesh) : A four-year-old boy was brought out dead Thursday morning from the borewell he had fallen into.

Dhanendra, hailing from in the Budhaura village, fell into the borewell on Wednesday.

After 20-hour rescue efforts, he was brought out but the doctors at the spot pronounced him dead.

The fire department, local police and the administration carried out the operation, joined also by teams of the NDRF.

Reports said excavators dug the area around the borewell and oxygen was supplied to the child through pipes.

District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar said Dhanendra, along with his elder sister Rekha was playing when he fell into the borewell.

Kulpahad police station in-charge Anup Dubey rushed to the spot with a police force after being alerted of the incident.

Extra police forces were deployed to control a huge crowd assembled to watch the rescue operation.

A team of the health department including doctors and paramedical staff supplied oxygen into the borewell.
