Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth on Sunday launched a sharp critique against the Jharkhand government and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi over the ongoing student protests in Ranchi regarding alleged irregularities in the 14th JPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination. Visiting the demonstration site at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium as the agitation entered its 16th day, Seth accused the state administration of ignoring the grievances of job aspirants and challenged Gandhi to show genuine solidarity by protesting outside Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s residence.
Seth accused Gandhi of selective politics and double standards, contrasting his statements on educational reforms in Delhi with his absence from the ongoing agitation in Ranchi. The Union Minister further alleged that the governing coalition in Jharkhand is employing "divide and rule" tactics by deploying student wings like the NSUI and JMM Yuva Morcha to infiltrate and weaken the movement instead of directly resolving the aspirants' core demands.
Echoing these sentiments, Jharkhand BJP President Aditya Sahu criticized the state leadership for politicizing the crisis and failing to address the emotional and professional distress of the state's youth. Sahu questioned why the state government continues to resist calls for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the examination process, asserting that the administration must prioritize transparency over political maneuvering.
