TV actress under fire for remark on Hindu god, probe ordered into incident

Bhopal: A TV actress has come under political scrutiny for a remark made during the promotion of the upcoming web series "Show Stopper", where she allegedly made a joke on "God" measuring the size of her undergarments. Home Minister Narottam Mishra condemned the dialogue and said a probe has been ordered into the incident.

The actress, Shweta Tiwari, was quoted as saying "God is measuring my bra size" during the promotional tour for the show, as quoted by news agency ANI. The reference allegedly made was to a scene in the show where actor Saurabh Jain, who played Lord Krishna in the television epic series "Mahabharata", measures the actress' character's bra size.

The jesting statement was made to Saurabh, whose character plays a bra fitter in the series according to reports.

"The statement given by actress ShwetaTiwari in Bhopal is condemnable. Bhopal Police Commissioner Makrand Deuskar has been directed to examine the facts and context and submit a report within 24 hours, on the basis of which a decision will be taken," Narottam Mishra posted on the Indian microblogging site Koo.

Mishra said that no one had the right to malign Hindu culture and deities.

"Show Stopper" stars Rohit Roy, Digangana Suryavanshi, and Sourabh Raaj Jain in lead roles. The series is based on the fashion industry. All of the cast were present at the controversial press conference and Shweta's remarks have now gone viral on social media.
