Thiruvallur: In a disturbing incident that has sparked widespread outrage, a migrant worker from Madhya Pradesh was brutally attacked with sickles by four minors in Tamil Nadu’s Thiruvallur district. The attackers filmed the assault on a mobile phone, with one of the accused brazenly flashing a 'victory' sign to the camera after the crime.
The victim, identified as Siraj, is currently in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at a hospital for severe injuries.
According to reports, the ordeal began on a moving train where the minors allegedly cornered Siraj and intimidated him by brandishing sickles and swords. The harassment was recorded by the group. The situation escalated when the accused forced the victim to a secluded spot near a railway station.
The viral footage shows the group repeatedly attacking Siraj with sickles in the secluded area. The video, recorded by the attackers themselves, has been widely circulated on social media, drawing sharp criticism over the brutality and the apparent lack of fear of the law displayed by the minors.
Police authorities have taken cognizance of the viral video and have launched an investigation. A probe is currently underway to identify and apprehend the minors involved in the attack.
