TMC MP Rukmini Mallick resigns from Rajya Sabha

New Delhi: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Rukmini Mallick resigned from the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, July 16, becoming the fourth party member to step down from the Upper House since the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress lost power in West Bengal.

Mallick submitted her resignation to the Rajya Sabha Chairman, requesting that it be accepted with immediate effect.

In her resignation letter, she expressed gratitude to the Deputy Chairman and the officials of the Rajya Sabha Secretariat for their support and cooperation during her tenure as a member of the House.

Before Mallick, TMC MPs Sukhendu Shekhar Ray, Susmita Dev and Prakash Chik Baraik had also resigned from the Rajya Sabha.
