Rewari/Haryana: Prime Minister Narendra Modi mocked Congress on Friday that those who used to say Lord Ram is imaginary and didn't want to construct the Ram temple are now chanting 'Jai Siya Ram'. The chant means praise to both Lord Ram and Lady Sita.
The PM was addressing a crowd in Haryana's Rewari after laying the foundation for an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), along with inaugurating several other projects there.
Referring to his visit to the UAE and Qatar this week, he said the respect that India now gets from every corner is not of Narendra Modi alone but of every Indian.
The PM claimed that Congress created many obstacles in the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution for decades. He reminded the crowd that it was his party's poll promise to scrap the special status to Jammu and Kashmir, which they implemented as promised.
He then slammed the Congress, claiming that the party only kept the interest of one family above the country and its people. The party has the record of the biggest scams in history, he claimed, while his own party is submerged in the same.\
He then reminded the Rewari crowd that he made his first public appearance there after being declared as the party's prime ministerial candidate ahead of the 2014 general elections.
It was on January 22 that the consecration of the Ram Temple was conducted. Top Congress leaders did not attend the function and accused the BJP and the ruling central government that the temple was a political project.
One could not fail but notice that every other sentence uttered by the PM contains a request for people's "blessings" and his "guarantees", which could be an apparent effect of upcoming elections.
