The BJP is keen on making Rahul Gandhi a hero: Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata: Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said Rahul Gandhi is PM Modi's ‘biggest TRP’ and added that nobody will be able to take on PM Modi if Rahul Gandhi is the face of Opposition.

Mamata Banerjee was talking to party workers in Murshidabad when she questioned Rahul Gandhi's leadership of the Opposition, as well as accusing the BJP of keenly making Rahul Gandhi a hero by not letting Parliament function.

‘It is the Congress that bows before the BJP. Congress, CPM and BJP are instigating minorities against the Trinamool,’ she reportedly said.

Mamata Banerjee’s questioning of Rahul Gandhi’s leadership has more to do with the Trinamool’s losing a minority dominated seat to the Congress in a recent by-election.

In line with Mamata’s criticism, Trinamool MP in the Lok Sabha Sudip Bandopadhyay previously said that the BJP benefits from Rahul Gandhi being the face of Opposition.

The Trinamool that emerged in the state pushing aside the Congress and the CPM has eaten more into the votes of the Congress, emaciating the party.

The congress is reportedly upset over its failing grip after Trinamool began dominating the state politics.

However, after Trinmool lost Murshidabad to the Congress, both the parties began locking horns accusing each other of helping the BJP.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhury is known for not pulling his punches when attacking Trinamool.
