Hyderabad: A thief who drank himself to sleep after breaking into a liquor shop in Talangana was arrested, according to NDTV.
He managed to get into the shop by removing the roof tiles and then disabled CCTV cameras.
Everything went perfect as planned including stealing cash from drawers before a tragic flaw hit him.
It was then he wanted to try some drinks which proved to be a false step in his well-thought-out plans.
Happy after the big loot ahead of New Year, he must have thought it was time to celebrate.
He had a drink and then another before he had one too many.
At some point he passed out and was discovered the following day by staff with cash and liquor bottles remaining scattered around him.
There was an injury mark on his face which he may have got during the robbery.
Narsing, who is the in-charge of Kanakadurga Wines in Medak district, said: ‘We shut shop at 10 pm on Sunday. When we opened at 10 am the next morning, we saw him lying unconscious. He had removed roof tiles for entry and taken money from the cash box. He was shifted to the hospital. Police are still investigating if he had an accomplice.’
Alongside registering a case, police are waiting for the thief to regain conscious to know more about him.
