Telangana rolls out 17 online ‘faceless’ driving licence services

Hyderabad: The Telangana Transport Department has launched 17 driving licence services online via the Sarathi portal, allowing motorists to apply and update details from home without visiting Regional Transport Offices (RTOs).

Transport Commissioner Dr K Ilambarithi announced on Friday that the "faceless" services use Aadhaar-based authentication for seamless access. The move aims to boost digital governance and deliver faster, transparent services.

These services will integrate into the NextGen mParivahan app within three days for easier mobile access.

Key services now online:

• Corrections to address, name, photo, or signature on learner’s licences

• Duplicate learner’s licences and extracts

• Duplicate, renewal, or replacement of driving licences

• Biometric, date-of-birth, photo, or signature changes on driving licences

• Driving licence extracts

• Removal of vehicle class from driving licences

• Endorsement for hazardous goods vehicles

• Duplicate Public Service Vehicle (PSV) badges

Officials expect the initiative to cut physical visits dramatically, enhancing convenience for drivers statewide.
