Telangana CM Reddy invokes Prophet Muhammad’s message for global peace

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy highlighted the universal relevance of Prophet Muhammad’s teachings and called for political unity during the launch of Prophet for the World, a book authored by Moulana Khalid Safiullah Rahmani, president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, The Siasat Daily reported.

Reddy stated that Prophet Muhammad's message of peace was not just for Muslims but for anyone striving to live in peace globally. He warned against divisive forces spreading hatred to further their political agendas and urged the public to be vigilant in rejecting such narratives. Addressing the audience, he stressed the importance of combating those who attempt to sow discord among different communities for their own gain.

The chief minister also used the occasion to comment on the role of opposition parties in India’s democracy. According to him, strong opposition is crucial for representing the people’s voice in the legislative process.

He expressed admiration for Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, noting that the leader consistently raised issues concerning the poor in the Lok Sabha. Reddy remarked that Owaisi was one of the rare leaders who truly stood for the underprivileged, contrasting him with many current MPs, who, according to Reddy, come from corporate backgrounds and do not prioritise the needs of the poor.

In his address, Reddy also commented on the need for collaboration between political parties, particularly after elections. Reddy highlighted his own cooperation with the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) on environmental projects, particularly the government’s efforts to clean and rejuvenate the Esa and Musi rivers, which have suffered from pollution.

Reddy emphasised the importance of working toward the upliftment of the poor in Telangana over the next decade, drawing parallels between the teachings of different religious texts, including the Bhagavad Gita, the Quran, and the Bible, which he said all preached unity and peace. "Let us be together, take the country forward, and keep peace in the world," Reddy stated.

Moulana Khalid Safiullah Rahmani also spoke during the event, emphasising the universal nature of Prophet Muhammad’s teachings, which he described as a “model for humanity.” Rahmani elaborated on the Prophet's messages of respect for women, non-Muslims, animals, and nature.

He explained that the Prophet had spoken about treating all people equally, regardless of their faith, and showed similar concern for environmental preservation, urging people to protect animals and plant life.
