Swiss woman's search for her mother continues in Mumbai, help her if you have any clue

Mumbai: Beena Makhijani Muller's search for her biological mother goes in circles.

For over a decade this 44-year-old Swiss woman has just one clue to supply—Robello.

That was her mother's name that Beena's adoptive parents happened to see.

Clinging to this name like a talisman she is tearfully searching for her. Where is she?

Beena Makhijani Muller was born in 1978 and was adopted and taken to Switzerland in the same year from an adoption centre, Asha Sadan, in South Mumbai, according to India Today.

Since 2011, she has been visiting Mumbai, asking around for details about her mysterious mother.

But she has not progressed even a wee bit. Beena is still hopeful that she will be able to find the answer to why she was abandoned.

Beena knows it is a matter of stigma and assures the whole affair will be treated discreetly, for she does not want to ruin anybody.

She was adopted by an Indian and she is looking for answers, she said.

Going in circles, on October 12 Beena once again returned for details at the orphanage in South Mumbai where she was left as a baby.

Advocate Anjali Pawar, director of Adoptee Rights Council Pune, who is helping Beena in her search, said the officials at the orphanage had no documents.

Inconsistent information made the matters worse, Pawar said adding that the adoption agency people were not initially cooperative and tried to stop her.

Officials designed to cooperate only when Anjali Pawar approached the Bombay High court.

Anjali Pawar promised to keep the identity of anyone coming forth secret.

Anjali Pawar whose organization runs a DNA project requests anyone who gave a child to Asha Sadan in 1978 to contact her at +91 9822206485.

She offered secrecy as it is related to the case of an unwed woman back then.

Beena whose search for her mother is in limbo says she doesn't have enough money to arrange for tickets so she participated in a quiz program back home in Zurich, according to the report.

Beena's two sons aged 13 and 16 have accompanied her to Mumbai and are encouraging her to continue the search for their elusive grandma.
