Surat Diamond Hospital offers free deliveries on Ram Temple consecration

The Surat Diamond Association (SDA) Arogya Samiti hospital in Varachha, Gujarat, is offering free deliveries for all expectant mothers on January 22, in celebration of the upcoming consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

This compassionate gesture, rooted in both religious devotion and a commitment to community health, aims to bring joy to expectant mothers and the hospital staff alike.

The hospital, situated in the diamond hub of Varachha, is abuzz with anticipation as trustees, doctors, nurses, and support staff gear up for this special day. To mark the occasion, a Maha Aarti (grand prayer ceremony) is planned, and the entire hospital building will be illuminated with vibrant lights, creating a festive ambiance.

CP Vanani, Chairman of Surat Diamond Hospital, expressed, "We are dedicating January 22nd to the holy arrival of Lord Rama in Ayodhya. As a token of our devotion and to share in the nation's joy, all deliveries, including both normal and caesarean sections, will be performed entirely free of charge."

This generous offer holds significant value considering the hospital's regular service. With approximately 950 patients served daily in the Outpatient Department (OPD) and 350-400 deliveries conducted monthly, the hospital plays a crucial role in catering to the health needs of a substantial community. Typically, normal deliveries cost Rs 1800, and caesarean sections are priced at Rs 5000. However, on January 22nd, these costs will be waived.

The hospital's commitment to women's health extends beyond free deliveries.

Vanani elaborated, "We understand the financial burden that families face during childbirth, especially with the birth of a girl child. Therefore, we offer free deliveries for daughters and even provide a Rs 1 lakh bond for every subsequent daughter born here. To date, we have given over Rs 20 crore to 2000 daughters."
