A routine internal test at Dr Malakareddy Homoeopathic College in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi district reportedly turned violent after a student attacked an invigilating professor who had caught him cheating.
The scuffle took place during the Homoeopathic Materia Medica examination and was captured by CCTV cameras in the hall. Faculty members said assistant professor Shivarajkumar, who was supervising the exam, found a student, Shahbaz, using a mobile phone to copy answers. After seizing his answer sheet and asking him to leave, the situation escalated.
The footage shows the student reacting angrily and assaulting the professor, after which other students stepped in to separate them. Though he initially headed towards the exit, he is seen returning moments later to strike the invigilator again before being restrained, Free Press Journal reported.
The college administration informed the student’s parents and barred him from appearing in future examinations. Despite the recorded evidence of the assault, the professor has not filed a police complaint so far.
