New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that some are making attempts to disrupt peace utilizing caste-based politics. He asked people to resist such efforts and maintain social harmony in rural areas.
He claimed without taking names that some people are attempting to raise discord through caste-based politics. Inaugurating the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav, he said that it must be noted that the identity of our village is deeply rooted in its harmony and love. But some are trying to poison and weaken the society in the name of caste, he claimed and added that such "conspiracies" must be thwarted while keeping our village's shared heritage and culture alive.
"One more important thing to note is that the identity of our village is deeply rooted in its harmony and love. These days, some people are trying to poison society in the name of caste and weaken the fabric of our community. We must thwart such conspiracies and keep our village's shared heritage and culture alive while also strengthening it," Swarjya quoted the PM.
Then, the Minister listed the NDA government's rural development initiatives since 2014. He cited a research report by SBI to suggest that rural poverty had declined from 26 per cent to below 5 per cent. He then criticized the previous governments, accusing them of neglecting rural communities. He claimed that even decades after independence, many villages lacked basic necessities.
The Grameen Bharat Mahotsav aims to enhance rural infrastructure, create self-reliant economies, and foster innovation within rural communities through various discussions, workshops and masterclasses, PTI reported.
