Ex- AIADMK Leader and aide of former CM Jayalalitha, VK Sasikala was discharged from Victoria Hospital in Bangalore today after her latest COVID tests came out negative. Sasikala was hospitalized after she tested positive when under judicial custody. She completed her four-year term for a disproportionate assets case four days ago on Wednesday.
Though Chief Minister EK Palaniswami denied rumours of Sasikala's rejoining the party ahead of the upcoming state elections, the flag of AIADMK on Sasikala's car as she left hospital has raised speculations. She was welcomed by a throng of around 300 supporters outside the hospital.
However, AIADMK's official Twitter page slammed the use of the flag by the former leader. The tweet quotes Tamil Nadu Fisheries Minister D Jayakumar, "How Sasikala, who is not even a party member could use the party flag? This is against the law." Cases relating to Sasikala's expulsion from the General Secretary position of AIADMK is still pending before Tamil Nadu High Court.
Sasikala moved to Prestige Golfshire resort in Bengaluru where she will stay for quarantine for the coming seven days. As per reports, she would move to Chennai after completion of quarantine in a grand procession.
