Saif Ali Khan’s domestic help allowed attacker entry into the house: Police

Mumbai: Mumbai Police said no one was seen in CCTV footage entering actor Saif Ali Khan’s house from two hours before the actor was stabbed at around 2.30 am Thursday, India Today reported.

The outlet citing the police added that the attacker might have been present inside the home.

A female member of the actor’s team was also stabbed at his Bandra home, police said.

It is reported that the woman was admitted to a hospital and her condition stable.

The local area's Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dixit Gedam, told reporters that police were informed about the incident at around 3 am.

Dixit Gedam added that a police team, including senior officials, reached the spot, adding that ‘He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.’

The suspected might have entered home from a duct that opens in the actor’s bedroom, police source said.

Police formed eight teams to arrest the accused and believe that the suspect was inside Khan’s housing society.

Meanwhile, The Indian Express reported that Mumbai police are questioning one of the actor’s domestic helps on suspicion that the attacker is related to the staff member and allowed him to enter into the house.

Locked in one of the rooms, the accused managed to escape from there, according to the report. 

The outlet reported that the actor suffered six stab wounds, including one dangerously close to his spine along with a minor injury on his neck.

Khan along with his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and other family members were asleep at the time of the incident.
