Kyiv: Russia continues brutal attacks on Ukraine with intense shelling over the capital city along with other major cities. On Wednesday, the Russian offensive attempted to stamp out the Ukraine defence, which continued to stand before the Russian offensive, Associated Press reported.
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that Russian demands for ending the war are becoming more realistic as negotiations progress.
Zelensky claimed that Russian forces have not yet been able to penetrate deep into the Ukraine territory, though many cities have sustained heavy shelling. Intelligence agencies of the West are also delivering the same narrative.
A source from US defence said that Russia is using long-range fire to hit civilians, But its forces have not yet reached the centre of Kyiv but nearly 15 km outside, indicating that they have not made any significant progress recently.
While Zelenskyy prepared for a direct speech in the US Congress calling for help, defence ministers of NATO nations decided to meet in Brussels on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the total of those who fled the country went past 3 million.
Russian forces have stepped up attack in the suburbs of Kyiv, according to sources from the region. Twelve towns are devoid of water and heating, while infrastructure institutions of various purposes like education, worship etc., were suffering a heavy-armed fire.
Russian forces were cutting off transportation lines to the capital, destroying Ukraine's logistical capabilities, in order to impart a broader attack to size the money.
Russian naval ships reportedly fired a town south of Mariupol on the Azov Sea and another near Odesa another on the Black Sea.
But Ukraine also made successful attacks as satellite images of helicopters and vehicles on heavy flames from Kherson International Airport and Airbase, held by Russia, came out. These were believed to be out of the Ukraine strike on Tuesday.
