New Delhi: Veteran RSS leader Ratan Sharda came down BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya on Wednesday for trolling social media users who criticised the Union Budget, which was released on Tuesday. The right-wing Hindutva organisation RSS is the parent organisation of BJP, Scroll reports.
Sharda, who has written many books on RSS and handles a regular column on the group’s mouthpiece Organiser, commented that the attitude of the BJP IT cell is a serious problem, slamming Malviya.
Following the announcement of the Union Budget, many netizens have criticised the Centre’s decision to do away with the indexation of property sales. The indexation adjusts the purchase of a property to account for inflation over time and reduces the taxable capital gains on its sale
In a presently deleted post, Malviya reacted to online criticism, saying, “Everyone is an indexation specialist tonight.”
Sharda said that Malviya is trolling citizens instead of coming up with simplified communication about good points of Budget 2024. He advised Malviya to answer people’s fears instead of insulting them.
Less than two months ago, Sharda had come down on BJP in the open. He wrote in his column in Organiser on June 8, “Results of 2024 General Elections have come as a reality check for overconfident BJP karyakartas and many leaders. They did not realise that Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s call of 400+ [Lok Sabha seats] was a target for them and a dare for [the Opposition].”
Sharda said that workers of the BJP and all supporting organisations were “happy in their bubble” and were not listening to the voices of the streets. The article was published a day after Modi’s oath to office for a third term as PM.
