Republic Day parade showcases thrilling display of nation’s strength

New Delhi: The 74th Republic Day parade marched down the revamped boulevard Kartyavya path in Delhi showcasing the nation’s strength and diversity.

President Droupadi Murmu, who arrived at the venue accompanied by Chief Guest Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, flagged off the parade.

There emerged a grand parade of India’s military might with highly trained forces marching down in an unbreakable rhythm.

23 tableaux, 17 from states and union territories, and 6 from various government ministries displayed India's cultural heritage.

Motorcycle display by the Corps of Signals' Dare Devils team performed several thrilling formations, including yoga poses.

The most notable highlight of this year’s celebration is the march of an all women contingent of the Central Reserve Police Force.

Several other contingents that paraded on the boulevard including the Navy featured women.

A woman officer led the naval contingent that featured 3 women, and there were 6 Agniveers from the first batch of the new armed forces recruitment scheme.

Eatrlier, PM Modi alongside Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and the chiefs of the tri-services paid homage at the National War Memorial.

The parade began with a march by144 soldiers of the Egyptian Armed Forces representing the main branches of the Egyptian Armed Forces.

The weapons systems on display in tune with the government’s Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) motto showcased Indian made Arjun and Akash missile systems.
