Rahul Gandhi takes aim at the government's "Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Loot Yojana"

New Delhi: On Monday, Rahul Gandhi blamed the government's rise in fuel prices on the "Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Loot Yojana", the 12th price hike in two weeks.

According to the graphic Gandhi shared on Twitter, a full tank of fuel for a bike, car, tractor and truck costs less now than it did two years ago.

His caption said, "Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan LOOT Yojana.".

Randeep Surjewala, Congress chief spokesperson, said under the Modi government, every morning brings the sadness of inflation rather than the excitement of prosperity.

"Petrol and diesel prices went up by 0.40% in the morning in today's Fuel LooT instalment," he tweeted.

Mr Surjewala said that CNG has also become more expensive by * 2.50 per kg, and petrol and diesel have increased by * 8.40 per litre over the past two weeks.

"Vote for BJP means 'mandate for inflation'?" the Congress leader said.

Diesel and petrol prices were each raised by 40 paise a liter on Monday, marking the third straight week that rates have risen by 8.40 per liter.

According to a price notification by state fuel retailers, petrol prices in Delhi have gone up from *103.41 to *103.81 per liter, while diesel rates have gone up from *94.67 to *95.07.

Across the country, rates have increased, and rates differ from state to state in accordance with local taxes.
