Political resolution to be tabled by Amit Shah at BJP national executive

HYDERABAD: Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah will present the all-important political resolution at the party's national executive meeting on Sunday, clarifying the party's stand on various key issues and shaping its political activities in the coming days.

With the executive meeting taking place in the wake of the Nupur Sharma controversy and the murder of Udaipur tailor Kanahiya Lal, it is being watched to see if the party's resolution makes any mention of these two incidents, which will be seconded by the two chief ministers.

The party paid tributes to Kanahiya Lal and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in the condolence resolution on Saturday. The resolution will be seconded by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Karnataka Chief Minister Basvraj Bomai.

The Modi government's welfare measures, BJP's victory in the recent assembly elections and preparations for the upcoming assembly elections will likely be the points of discussion in the political resolution.

The resolution may convey a political message to the party's ranks and file on various current issues and also for the upcoming assembly elections.

BJP's vice president Vasundhara Raje Scindia on Saturday before the beginning of the national executive meeting said that all-important and current issues would be discussed in the meeting.

At the BJP national meeting on Saturday, Union Minister and senior party leader Rajnath Singh presented a resolution on the welfare measures and economy of the Modi government.
