PM Modi to meet UAE Pres Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and discuss advancing a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The PM is on an official visit to UAE on Tuesday and Wednesday, Asian News International reported.

The PM office said in an official statement that his visit to UAE is the seventh one since 2014, and the Qatar visit that follows will be the second.

According to ANI, India-UAE's cooperation has advanced manifold over the last nine years in the fields of trade and investment, defence and security, food and energy security, and education. The PMO statement claimed that India's culture and people-to-people connect is "stronger than ever", ANI quoted.

Calling the UAE president his "brother", PM Modi said that he was eager to meet the Nahyaan.

In an X post, PMO said that the PM will attend various programmes in UAE and Qatar. The seventh visit to UAE indicates the priority New Delhi attached to a strong India-UAE friendship.

The statement continues that Modi will inaugurate the first Hindu temple in UAE and address the Indian community at a programme in the UAE capital. He said that he will also speak at the World Governments Summit 2024 in Dubai on February 14.

"At the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, PM and Defence Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, I will be addressing the gathering of world leaders at the World Government Summit in Dubai on 14 Feb 2024," the PMO statement read.
