Person born to a foreign woman can never be a patriot: BJP leader

New Delhi: BJP MP Sanjay Jaiswal today said that a person born to a foreign woman can never be a patriot.

Jaiswal was talking to NDTV protesting against Rahul Gandhi’s remark on Modi’s surname when he slammed Rahul Gandhi claiming he was quoting what Chanakya had said 2000 years ago.

Previously another BJP leader Pragya Singh Thakur from Bhopal also quoted Chanakya while saying Rahul should not be allowed to do politics in the country and be thrown out of India.

"We know you are not from India...Chanyakka said that a son born of a foreign woman can never be a patriot and Rahul Gandhi has proved it right," she was quoted by NDTV as saying on March 11.

Jaiswal said that Rahul Gandhi insulted the country abroad, adding the Congress leader does not trust India “ if you ( Rahul) say that our democracy, courts and journalists are all wrong’.

Calling the former Wayanad MP a "habitual offender", he said Rahul Gandhi is ‘ upset with PM Modi because he considers himself a price’.

‘The court had given him an opportunity, he could have apologised. He could have said in the court that his remark referred only to Nirav Modi and Lalit Modi, but he intentionally didn't do that to spin it as a sacrifice. The country is watching,’ Jaiswal reportedly said.

Meanwhile, the BJP held a protest demonstration at the Gandhi statue in the parliament against Rahul Gandhi over his remark on the Modi surname.
