Indore, Madhya Pradesh: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday told a BJP meeting in Madhya Pradesh that PM Modi responded to Pakistan’s 2021 Uri and Pulwama attack with an invasive surgical strike.
This was quite unlike when the Congress’ 'Mauni Baba' was in power, referring to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he said, according to NDTV.
Amit Shah said when Pakistan attacked India it slipped their mind that Narendra Modi was the prime minister.
‘At Uri and Pulwama they (Pakistanis) had attacked the Army and CRPF, but they forgot that the UPA government is not in power, it is the BJP government in power. And not Mauni Baba Manmohan Singh, but Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister,' the Home Minister was quoted by ANI as saying.
In 15 days Indian soldiers entered Pakistan and eliminated terrorists from their hideouts, he added.
He told the BJP’s Booth President Sammelan that the Congress government had not responded adequately to the terrorist activities of Pakistan in India.
Amit Shah accused the Congress leadership of not listening to the people during the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
Taking on the Madhya Pradesh state Congress leaders, Shah asked them ‘Is Kashmir ours or not? Article 370 should have gone or not? Sreeman Bantadhar, you and Kamal Nath, listen to the people of Madhya Pradesh’ .
He alleged that the Congress had been ‘nourishing’ Article 370 as if were a baby for 70 years.
Attacking the Opposition’s alliance INDIA, Amit Shah asked whether people could vote for those who opposed the abrogation of Article 370, nevertheless they changed their name.
In the 2018 assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Congress won 114 seats pushing the BJP to 109 seats.
Two years later in 2020, the Congress lost majority after some of its MLAs resigned following which the BJP formed the government with Shivraj Singh Chouhan as the chief minister. Madhya Pradesh will go to polls later this year.
