Amid growing student protests over alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and other competitive exams, the Opposition has announced plans to raise the issue in Parliament tomorrow.
The move aims to challenge the government despite the scheduled discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the President's address. Government sources, however, told NDTV they are prepared to address any questions related to NEET that may arise during the debate.
Officials stated that extensive measures have already been taken to address concerns about NEET, including initiating a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe and forming a special committee to investigate the matter. The committee's report is anticipated soon. Additionally, stringent new rules against cheating and paper leaks are set to be implemented in this session, promising severe action against offenders and laying the groundwork for a more robust education system.
Should the NEET issue be brought up tomorrow, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will respond.
The controversy surrounding NEET was mentioned in President Droupadi Murmu's address to the joint session of Parliament today. President Murmu reaffirmed the government's commitment to a fair investigation of the issues at hand.

This protest followed another demonstration by the Congress' youth wing near Parliament, highlighting the escalating tensions over the NEET results and alleged irregularities.
