Patna: Nitish Kumar's decision to exit the Mahagathbandhan alliance and join forces with the BJP is considered a "loss" for the BJP and a "gain" for the opposition INDIA bloc, according to Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK.
Reacting to the move, DMK spokesperson J Constandine Ravindran expressed that the people would not accept this "act of betrayal."
Ravindran emphasised the importance of credibility and integrity for a leader, noting that Nitish Kumar had lost credibility by switching allegiances five times, joining the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar only in August 2022.
"Though Nitish Kumar is a veteran leader in Bihar, he has completely lost credibility. He has no integrity. Integrity and credibility are very important for a leader," stated Ravindran.
He further asserted, "Nitish Kumar leaving the INDIA bloc is a gain for us (opposition alliance) and it is a loss for the BJP. People will teach a lesson to Nitish Kumar at the right time." Nitish Kumar's move is seen as a significant blow to the INDIA alliance, and the DMK anticipates repercussions for the JD(U) leader in the future.
