Residents of Kandrakota village in Peddapuram mandal of Kakinada district, Andhra Pradesh, are grappling with a series of eerie events that have left them on edge. Reports of ghostly apparitions and unexplained phenomena have spread fear among the villagers, prompting them to take drastic measures to protect themselves.
Over the past few weeks, locals claim to have heard strange sounds emanating from the darkness of the night, sending shivers down their spines. The situation escalated when, in the second week of February, villagers stumbled upon a makeshift puja site adorned with turmeric, saffron, lemons, and dry chilli. Nearby, signs of a slaughtered goat further fueled their anxiety.
In an attempt to ward off the perceived evil presence, villagers commenced performing Ashtabhairavi Mahashakti Homa, a special ritual at the temple of Nukalamma’s Goddess and the local Shiva temple. However, their efforts were overshadowed by chilling encounters, including alleged sightings of a naked, black figure with long hair and large feet, which reportedly vanished into thin air.
The fear intensified when a viral video captured two men sprinting naked from the village fields, adding to the growing sense of unease. These unsettling incidents have not only gripped Kandrakota but have also sent shockwaves through neighbouring villages.
Amidst the rising panic, speculation abounds regarding the source of these disturbances. Some villagers suspect a hidden treasure trove in the vicinity of the Shiva temple, while others attribute the phenomena to an unseen force targeting households with children.
In response to the escalating situation, local authorities, including the police, have intervened. Police personnel have established a presence in the village, offering counselling to assuage fears and restore a sense of security among residents.
As dusk falls, Kandrakota villagers remain on edge, uncertain of when the mysterious forces lurking in the shadows will emerge once more. In their quest to safeguard against the unknown, preparations for another Ashta Bhairava Mahashakti Homa are underway, as the community grapples with the enigma that has gripped their once tranquil village.
