Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for running away from the problems in Manipur.
In her speech in the Lok Sabha, Mahua criticized PM Modi, who spoke a lot about matters that begin with 'ma', but did not mention Manipur. "Why only the generic word 'North East'? During the Lok Sabha election campaign, Modi uttered many words beginning with the letter 'ma'. Musalman, Mullah, Madrasah, Mughal, Mattan, Machli, Mangalsutra... but never once said the word Manipur," criticized MP Moitra.
She also quoted Pablo Neruda's poem, "Come and see the blood on the streets of Manipur."
Moitra said that last time BJP tried to silence her in the Lok Sabha. However, the people silenced them by reducing their seats through elections. "Last time I came here I was not allowed to speak. The ruling BJP had to pay a heavy price for trying to suppress the voice of an MP. They tried to silence me. But people silenced 63 MPs of BJP forever."
"This government, which had to rely on allies for an absolute majority, could fall at any time," she added.
