Maihar: A government primary school in Madhya Pradesh’s Maihar district has been rocked by disturbing allegations that its headmaster, identified as Kol, regularly arrives drunk, defecates inside the school premises and forces students to clean it.
Students and parents of Amour Primary School have accused the teacher of turning the school into an unsafe and degrading environment. Children allege that he also consumes gutka and spits across the school, while neglecting regular teaching. A Class 3 student reportedly said the headmaster forced him to clean excrement and verbally abused him.
Parents claim the headmaster frequently arrives extremely late, sometimes only around noon, leaving children without proper supervision or instruction. Regular classes are allegedly not conducted, while the distribution of midday meals has also been disrupted. Some parents further alleged that children are left without adequate food or drinking water while the headmaster remains intoxicated.
One parent alleged that the teacher treats the school like a toilet, defecating wherever he chooses and making multiple children clean up afterwards. Another claimed that students are left wandering around while the headmaster sits intoxicated.
When journalists visited the school, they reportedly found the headmaster watching YouTube videos on a tablet. He denied all the allegations against him.
Following the complaints, Block Education Officer Rajesh Dwivedi initiated action. A show-cause notice has been issued to the teacher through the cluster principal, and a recommendation to suspend him has been sent to the District Education Officer.
The allegations have sparked serious concerns over the safety, dignity and education of the children under his supervision.
